Some random thoughts...
Maybe some words about me to start. I'm a painter. At least I was a painter. That's what I studied, —in college and grad school. Now I work with Macs. Support. Teaching. Workshops. Instructional materials. I assist art students and I love doing it. I live in a 100+ year old house that overlooks a pond and town forest beyond. I commute into the city every day which is tough especially in the winter.
My dad was an engineer, but that doesn't even begin to describe him. He was an artist, —a very prolific one. He was also a published writer. My mom wrote poetry and was an investment advisor. She worked on Wall Street before she was married. She was also an artist and a wonderful cook.
I have a son. He's a musician. He has toured Europe a couple of times and played in Japan. He has also played extensively in Boston, some in NYC, and elsewhere in this country and Canada. OK. Proud Mom :-/. Sorry.
I love reading fiction. Every night when I get into bed I read for at least a half-hour and it takes me away from daytime thoughts and into another reality. A while back I read the Philip Pullman Trilogy and loved it. I got lost in it. Another book I loved was Into The Forest, ...sort of science fiction set in the present or near future. Quite wonderful.
Think I'll stop for now. More later. I hope I'll get better at this...
This must be boring. Feels stilted. Hope I can get past that.
